An exploration of the subtle interplay of ceramics, nature, and architecture

This series of works is an exploration of the subtle interplay of ceramics, nature, and architecture, as I craft forms that explore the built environment.

My act of piling the ceramic plates is an attempt at deconstruction and reassembly of the concepts of place and environment. It is an echo of the transformation of natural landscapes into architectural spaces and the potential for reestablishing connections between the built environment and nature.  The work is a dialogue about the continual cycle of construction and deconstruction, exploring how architecture serves as a bridge between nature and place.

This work represents a balancing act between the raw, earthy qualities of ceramics and the perceived rigidity and coldness of industrial materials. This contrast serves as a metaphor for the harmonious or discordant relationships between the natural world and the built environment. It reflects how architectural decisions impact the balance between human-made structures and nature, and how this dynamic shapes our experiences and interactions with the world around us.
